Abdur Rashid Mandal, Natya Affairs Secretary of Chalanbil Natya Sangsad, the hero of Jatrapala in Sirajganj Chalanbilanchal, has passed away (Innalillahi – Rajyun). He gained a lot of fame by playing the role of a hero in Chalanbil or Jatra Pala in the north. He died of a heart attack while talking at a tea stall in the local Katagari market around 9am on Tuesday, March 9. He was 51 years old at the time of his death. At this time he left behind 2 wife’s, 4 daughters and 2 sons and many relatives and well-wishers. Abdur Rashid is the son of Parash Mandal of Shampur Suara village in Desigram union of Tarash upazila.
President of Chalanbil Natya Sangsad Zahirul Islam Zahir, editor Golam Kibria Ujjal and drama director Tapan Kumar Goswami expressed deep grief over his untimely death. The loss suffered by the Natya Sangsad in Rashid’s death cannot be compensated. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He was buried in the family graveyard after the Janazah prayers.
