Newly elected Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh will take charge of the office today (Saturday). After that, at 3 pm the mayor will hold an online press conference from the office of Nagar Bhaban.
As the term of the current mayor Saeed Khokon expired Thursday, Taposh is going to take charge as the new mayor of DSCC today, said Dhaka South City Corporation Secretary Mostafa Kamal Majumder and Chief Engineer Rezaur Rahman.
Elections to the DNCC and DSCC were held on February 1. Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh won the mayoral post of DSCC and was sworn in as mayor on February 27.
