Tapan Mahmud’s 50 years of singing career marks today

To mark the 50 years of singing career of noted Tagore artiste Tapan Mahmud, a reception programme titled Joytu Tapan Mahmud is scheduled to be held today. Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samunnoy Parishad organises the event at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Poet Sufia Kamal Public Library in the capital’s Shahbag area at 5:00pm.
National Professor Dr Rafiqul Islam will be present as the chief guest, while acting Secretary for the Cultural Affairs Ministry Roksana Malek, veteran actor Syed Hasan Imam, noted theatre personality Ataur Rahman, M Hamid and recitation artiste Ashraful Alam will be also present as guests on the occasion.
To be presided over by Mahmud Selim, President of Samunnoy Parishad, its General Secretary Bishwajit Roy will give his speech.
In the programme, cover of the compilation of 50 songs rendered by Tapan Mahmud titled Sudurer Piayshi will be unveiled.
