Staff Reporter :
Tannery labour leaders on Friday called for collective actions to ensure their rights to better wage and other facilities.
The call came from a discussion and view exchange meeting organised by Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation (BLWF) held at Tannery Industrial State, Savar.
The speakers also urged the leather industries owners for ensuring housing, medical, educational and canteen facilities with interim wage for the Tannery labourers of the country.
BLWF General Secretary ZM Kamrul Anam was present as special guest and President Abul Kalam Azad presided over the programme as the Chief Guest. Publicity Secretary Sheikh Akram Hossain anchored the program. BLWF Secretary Abdul Malek and Cultural Secretary Abdur Rahim, among others, took part in the programme.
ZM Kamrul Anam asked the fellow members to work united for ensuring rights and continue their movement until realisation of their demands.
Abul Kalam Azad called also for protesting against the broker syndicate who performs against the labourers and called them to gather in a meeting to be held on August 24 at Tannery Industrial State of Savar.
