Tank-lorry workers call off strike after 2 days

Tank-lorry workers called off their strike on Friday morning that disrupted fuel oil supply to 15 districts for two days.
They decided to call off the strike around 11am after a meeting with tank-lorry owners, Khulna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Helal Uddin and Police Superintendent SM Shafiullah.
All districts in Khulna division and Gopalganj, Faridpur, Shariatpur, Madaripur and Rajbari were affected by the strike.

The workers went on strike on Wednesday morning demanding withdrawal of a case filed against two of their colleagues over a road accident. They withdrew the strike after the district administration assured them of withdrawing the case, DC Helal said.
On April 4, an accident took place at Aronghata area of Khulna. No-one was killed but police filed a case against two workers.
The union workers went on work abstention protesting against police action.
Four organisations of fuel oil businessmen also expressed solidarity with them and suspended supply and transportation of fuel.
