Tangail journo’s land grabbed allegedly

Ignoring High Court order, few discourteous men and women are trying to occupy a journalist’s piece of land at his village home, Dulla Ramdev, in Delduar upazila of Tangail district.
According to eyewitnesses, Jewel, Sharif and Motaleb, sons of Ismail Hossain alias Myna Kha, Shahida, wife of late Abdul Kader, Lutfa, wife of late Kashem, and Firoza, wife of late Khorshed, have been trying to construct a makeshift building on the land of Anisur Rahman Khan, a Special Correspondent of The Independent.
Anisur filed a writ petition with the High Court against Ismail Hossain, son of late Moslem Uddin, and others on February 12 this year.
Justice Md. Ashfaqul Islam and Justice Mohammad Ali passed an order to maintain status-quo in respect of possession and position of the suit land.
But, Ismail Hossain with the help of some ruling party men vandalized the said journalist’s tin-shed house and its boundary on March 18 violating HC order.
Again, they tried to occupy the land on last Friday mid-night and the matter was informed to Delduar thana under Tangail district, said Anisur.
He said, “As I am living in Dhaka. some vested quarters are trying to occupy my land there.
