Death toll in Tangail road crash has risen to eight. Earlier, six people were reported dead after a bus fell into a roadside ditch at Basail around 3pm on Thursday. Police said two more people succumbed to their injuries while being taken to a hospital. Police said 25 people were gravely injured in the accident near the Patkhagri village on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway. The injured were taken to the Mirzapore Upazila Health Complex and Tangail Medical College Hospital, said Gorail’s Highway Police SI Mozammel Hossain. The victims, a woman among them, were still to be identified, he said. The driver lost control of the ‘Binimay Paribahan’ bus at Patkhagrhi. The bus was in its way to Dhaka from Tangail’s Dhanbarhi, when it veered off the highway, said SI Mozammel, quoting witnesses.
