Tangail AL nominee accused of NID forgery

Tanvir Hasan alias Chhoto Monir, a joint candidate of the ruling party from Tangail-2 seat, has been accused of ‘forging a national identification card’ (NID).
A local resident has urged the authorities to reject his candidature for providing false information about his educational qualification in his affidavit, besides ‘forging’ the NID card.
Khandaker Khabiruzzaman from Tangail’s Gopalpur Upazila has complained to

 the chief election commissioner. bdnews24.com received a copy of his complaint on Tuesday.  
bdnews24.com found a different NID card number mentioned in the passport issued for Tanvir, following Khabiruzzaman’s complaint.
Tanvir did not answer the phone when bdnews24.com tried to contact him repeatedly to speak on the issue.
Tanvir was earlier named in seven criminal cases, including murder and arms trafficking.
Tanvir, the science and technology secretary of the Awami League’s Tangail unit, has always denied the allegations.
Khandaker Masiuzzaman Romel, son of MP Khandaker Asaduzzaman, is sharing the nomination of the ruling party with Tanvir for the same seat in the Dec 30 election.
