UNB, Dhaka :
Bangladesh’s leading run-scorer Tamim Iqbal had complained of a possible recurrence of a back injury during the practice session ahead of the first friendly match of their camp in England on Monday.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chief Physician Debasish Chowdhury on Wednesday said to media that there is nothing serious to his (Tamim) injury. “The nature of his injury is not serious.”
“I have not been informed officially as the injury condition is not severe enough. Perhaps a scan will be done there” said the physician.
After the assurance from Chowdhury, the Tigers fans can get rid of uncertainty of Tamim’s availability in the upcoming Ireland Tri-Nation Series and the ICC Championship Trophy.
Tamim missed the friendly battle which was washed out due to rain against Duke of Norfolk XI where the Tigers scored 345 runs at Arundel Castle Cricket Ground.
In their next friendly match the Tigers will face Sussex XI Hove on May 5, before leaving for Belfast on May 7 to play the Ireland Tri-Nation Series starting on May 12.
