Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal will play for Essex in the Natwest T20 Blast. Tamim got the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday.
Essex proposed Tamim Iqbal to play in the NatWest T20 Blast after he had performed a notable performance in the ICC Champions Trophy, which concluded recently. Tamim Iqbal scored altogether 293 runs in four matches of the ICC Champions Trophy. After watching his eye-catching batting Essex, a county cricket team of England gave him proposal to play for Essex in the NatWest T20 Blast, which will start today (Friday).
CEO of BCB Nizamuddin Chowdhury said to the journalists on Thursday ” Tamim Iqbal applied to BCB for NOC. BCB has given NOC to Tamim to play for Essex in the NatWest T20 Blast.”
Ryan ten Doeschate of England is the Captain of Essex. Besides, Alastair Cook, Ravi Bopara and James Foster will play with Tamim for Essex in NatWest T20 Blast.
Earlier, Tamim Iqbal played in the County Cricket Championship in England in 2011.
