Southpaw opener Tamim Iqbal scored his 8th Test century in the 2nd Test against England at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur Friday.
Tamim completed his century mission smashing two successive fours off Moeen Ali’s bowling to reach at 101 from 93. He faced 139 balls to fire 12 fours on the way to the century.
After his century, Tamim was unfortunately trapped by lbw off Moeen Ali’s delivery and left the ground with team collection of 171/2 in 41.1 overs.
The dashing left handed opener scored 104 off 147-balls and stayed with Mominul Haque in the 2nd wicket to build a partnership figure of 170 in 38.5 overs.
Making his Test debut against New Zealand in January, 2008, Tamim played 44th matches and scored 3309 runs, on an average 40.35.
