Sports Reporter :Tamim Iqbal has been fined Tk one lakh on Wednesday for his unsporting behaviour with the umpire during a Super League match of the Walton Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Cricket League between Abahani Limited and Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club at the BKSP Ground in Savar on Sunday. Besides, Tamim has also been banned for one match.All-rounder Nasir Hossain of Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club has been fined Tk twenty thousand for the same reason.In the match between the two teams Abahani limited were all out for 191 runs.But the incident began in the 16th over of Prime Doleshwar’s innings. The players of Abahani Limited including Captain Tamim Iqbal argued with the two umpires Gazi Sohel and Tanvir Ahmed over a stumping decision against Raqibul Hasan off Saqlain Sajib’s bowling. The players and the supporters of Abahani Limited abused the umpires as the decision was not in favour of them. Then the two umpires left the field after discussing with match referee Motu Dutta. Later, a new target was set for Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club in that rain-interrupted match according to D/L Method. But Doleshwar refused to play. Thus the match was postponed.Then the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) formed a probe committee to investigate the incident. Later, the match referee and the two umpires submitted their report to the probe committee. Tamim Iqbal agreed that he misbehaved with the umpires.Thus the committee fined Tamim Iqbal Tk one lakh and suspended for one match.President of BCB Nazmul Hassan Papon in a media briefing at BCB office on Wednesday announced the punishment given to Tamim Iqbal and Nasir Hossain.
