Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal did not take part in the only Test match against Afghanistan on September 5 to September 9. Tamim could not take part in the ongoing OBHAI Tri-nation T20 series. Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe took part in the first phase of the Tri-nation T20 series. Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan in the final of the Tri-nation series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the city’s Mirpur tomorrow.
Tamim was in leisure during the Test match and the Tri-nation series.
Tamim Iqbal took part at the practice session at the BCB-NCA Ground, which is adjacent to SBNCS. Tamim batted in the net for an hour on Sunday. Tamim did not talk to the newsmen after his training session. He forbade the photo journalists to take picture of his practice session.
After a long time, Tamim Iqbal returned to cricket. His fans have become happy as the left-hand opener again returned to the field.
It may be mentioned that Tamim Iqbal failed to show satisfactory performance in the recently concluded World Cup in England and Wales. He could hit just a half-century in the gala extravaganza of World Cricket. Then Tamim Iqbal visited Sri Lanka and played an ODI series against their Sri Lankan counterpart. Tamim Iqbal led Bangladesh as a skipper. But he failed to shine with willow and also failed to lead his team. Bangladesh lost to Sri Lanka in that series.
However, it is a good news for all the cricket lovers of the country that experienced and talented opener Tamim Iqbal has returned to cricket.
