Sheikh Arif Bulbon :
Around 25 years ago, Tamalika Karmakar started her acting career. She has completed silver jubilee of her acting career in January of this year.
In her long time career, she is really grateful to her mother Shishir Kona Karmakar. Later in different times her working colleagues and directors extended their hands towards her in case of acting. But she always believes that viewers have made her today’s Tamalaika or for them she has come into present position. Not only had this, Tamalika’s dedication to her works, acting but also her patience helped her to come into this position.
Tamalika first acted with theatre group Aronnyok in a play titled Pathor under Azizul Hakim’s direction under the script written by Mamunur Rashid in 1992.
Then under the banner of same theatre group she also acted in plays Khela Khela, Iblis, Shotrugon, Uporwala, Joy Joyonti, Rarang, Moyur Singhashon, Bhongo Bongo, The Jubilee Hotel, etc.
Without her group she also worked for another theatre group Prachyanat in play Mayer Mukh under Emon’s direction.
Within very short days, Tamalika is going to work in three new serials. Mannan Hira, Golam Sohrab Dodul and Din Mohammad Montu will make these serials.
Her acted three serials – Radio Jockey O Kotipoy Golpo, Shong-Sar and DB are being aired in different channels now.
In big screen, Tamalika first acted in late Sheikh Niamat Ali’s movie Annyo Jibon.
In 2000, she got the National Film Award for first time to work in late Selim Al Deen scripted and Abu Sayeed directed movie Kirtonkhola. Her acted last released movie was late Humayun Ahmed’s Ghetuputro Komola.
