Talks on wartime diplomatic history on Thursday

Major (retd) ATM Hamidul Hossain Tariq will deliver a lecture, ‘Diplomatic History of Liberation War – Account of a Freedom Fighter’, here on Thursday.
Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) will organise the event at the IGCC auditorium as part of its lecture series, according to Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
Born in 1951, Major Tariq joined the Liberation War 1971 at the age of 19 when he was a student.
A valiant freedom fighter and Commander of Sector No 7, Tariq was awarded the gallantry award – Bir Bikrom.During the final assault by the Allied Force (Freedom Fighters and Indian Army) in the Northern Sector of the then East Pakistan by 20 Mountain Division, under GOC Major General Lachman Singh Legh.
He is a famous writer, columnist and researcher of Liberation War in Bangladesh. So far, he has written 35 books and received the Best Writer award on War of Liberation.
