Noted Iranian film director Morteza Atashzamzam has recently made a movie titled Fereshte in Bangladesh where the National Film Award
winning popular Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan played the lead role.
Earlier, this month the movie crew along with Jaya Ahsan were seen to take part in shooting of the movie in different locations in Dhaka. They have been shooting for the movie for the past 25 days. However, they did not disclose any details in this regard during that time.
Recently in a press meeting, Iranian director Morteza Atashzamzam praised about Jaya’s acting. In fact, according to the Iranian director, he has been impressed by Jaya’s acting skills. He did not even stint on comparisons with Iranian superstars.
Director Morteza Atashzamzam said, “Working with Jaya Ahsan, I felt like I was working with an Iranian superstar. Her acting skills are no less than theirs. In many cases, Jaya is more faultless. I am very happy to work with an actress like her. Jaya performed every scene perfectly. She handled everything brilliantly. In a word, I am fascinated. She was superb in her performance.”
Words of Morteza were translated into Bengali by Associate Professor of the Department of Persian Language and Literature, University of Dhaka Dr Md Mumit Al Rashid.
Regarding the context Jaya did not want to talk about what kind of role she is playing the movie but for now, she said, “I have not been in Dhaka for a long time. After shooting some movies in Kolkata, I got busy with Fereshte. So, I could not officially say anything about the movie. We did continuous shooting and had a great experience. Through this movie, I came to understand that cinema has no language. Director of this movie only understands his native language. Yet, I faced no difficulties while working with him. This is a completely new experience for me. I played the role of a struggling woman. We come across such women in our everyday life. We have shot across many locations. Once I put my make-up on for the role, no one recognised me.”
Apart from Jaya Ahsan, there are many others including Reekita Nondita Shimu acted in this movie. Shooting of the movie took place in Bashundhara Residential Area, Karwan Bazar, University of Dhaka, Kamalapur Railway Station area and some other places in the capital.
The movie Fereshte will be released in Bangladesh in Bengali language. Therefore, it will be also released in Iran with subtitles, said the Iranian director.
