Take re-exam of expelled PEC students within Dec 28 : HC

The High Court on Wednesday ordered the concerned bodies of the government to take re-examination of the expelled PEC and other equivalent students across the country within December 28 next and to publish the results within December 31.
The High Court Bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order, while holding hearing on a Suo Moto rule issued in this regard.
Besides, the court expressed dissatisfaction over the Secretary of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry as he didn’t comply with the rule issued by the court on November 21 this year.
At the same time, the court summoned the Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education as he failed to provide a statement consisting the number of the expelled students of the PEC examination across the country. He has to appear in the court on January 8, 2020 to explain the role of his office on the expulsion of the children. The court fixed January 8 for further hearing over the issue.
Advocate AM Jamiul Hoque Faisal and three other lawyers placed some reports before the HC Bench for necessary order to stop expulsion of children from the PSC and other equivalent students.
Following the newspaper cutting, the same HC Bench on November 21 issued a rule asking the government to explain in two weeks as to why the Article 11 of the directions promulgated by the Department of Primary Education dated December 20, 2018, saying a PEC examinee could be expelled for unfairmeans in the examination, should not be declared illegal.
Primary and Mass Education Secretary, Director General of Primary Education Department, Director General of National Primary Education Department and Chairman of Madrasa Education Board have been made respondents in the rule.
