A visiting Taiwanese Delegation met with Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BPGMEA) on Wednesday at BPGMEA Conference Room in the city. Md. Jashim Uddin, President of BPGMEA presided over the meeting. James C F Huang, Chairman of Taiwan External Trade Development Council led the 15-members delegation.
Top most officials from the companies like Dairen Chemical Corp, Fuburg Industrial Co. Ltd., Formosa Plastics Corp, Walton, Tsuyang Co. Ltd, Phison Electronics Corp. joined in this business co-operation meeting. BPGMEA former president ASM Kamal Uddin, Ferdous Wahed, Shamim Ahmed, Senior Vice-President Giasuddin Ahmed, Vice-President Quazi Anwarul Haque, former Vice-President KM Iqbal Hossain, Director Syed Tahsin Haque, ATM Syeedur Rahman Bulbul were present on the occasion. Jashim Uddin said that world class plastic products are being produced now such as PVC pipe, Hanger, Household items, Toys, Poly bags, Furniture, Woven sack bags, Packaging items etc. There are about 5000 small, medium and large plastic manufacturing units located in different clusters across Bangladesh. Growth rate has averaged more than 20% each year. Approximately 12,00,000 (1.2 million) people involved in plastic sector. This sector exported 4000 crore taka to 23 countries. He said, there is a ample opportunity and we invite Taiwanese entrepreneurs & investors to come forward to invest this promising sector and the investment will be profitable. We arrange our International Plastic Fair with participation from 20 countries around 400 companies exhibit their products, Catalog, Machineries, Services & Technology. It is jointly organized by BPGMEA & Chan Chao Int’l Co., Ltd, Taiwan. He welcomes the participation from Taiwan in the upcoming fair to be held from January 31-February 3, 2018 at BICC, Dhaka.
