GM Vahidov Tair of Uzbekistan and Somak Palit of India took joint lead in the points table with 4 points after end of the 6th round games of the CJKS-Prime Distributions Group Grandmasters Chess tournament now being held at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong on Tuesday.
Four players are sharing the 2nd position closely with 3.5 points. They are GM Abdullah Al-Rakib and IM Minhazuddin Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy, GM Niaz Murshed and IM Abu Sufian Shakil of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited.
In the 6th round games were held Tuesday last, Somak beat Shakil, Tair split points with Niaz, Rakib lost to IM Akshat Khamparia of India, Minhaz beat his teammate FM Sk. Nasir Ahmed and FM Kh. Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Navy beat WGM Toma Katarzyna of Poland.
