A tailor was beaten to death by a drug addict youth at Dhoni village of Balia Union in Dhamrai upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Masum Miah, 40, son of Jalal Uddin of Paschim Sutrapur village of the upazila.
Police said drug addict
Esrafil stopped Masum on the way and demanded some money for buying drug but Masum refused to give the money.
At one stage Esrafil beat him mercilessly with a heavy stick and left the place. Masum died on the spot.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue, said Rejaul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Dhamrai Thana. Police trying to arrest Esrafil, the OC added.
