Overnights batsmen Taibur Rahman and Saif Hasan hammered a magnificent double tons saw Dhaka Division dominated the second day as they declared their first innings at a massive total of 588 for 6 against Barisal Division on the second day of the four-day National Cricket League (NCL) on Wednesday at Sylhet
International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.
Taibur played a magnificent 242 runs off 302 balls laced with 26 boundaries and one over boundary while Siaf Hasan composed a superb 204 runs off 410-balls that featured 20 four s and a six, after Dhaka Division resumed their first innings on the second day (Wednesday) at overnight score of 300 for 3.
Tawhidul Islam was the most successful bowler as he grabbed five Dhaka’s wickets giving away 87 runs.
In reply, Barisal Division stated their first innings in the afternoon and suffered batting collapse as they tottering 101 for 6 at stumps.
Monir Hossain with 15 and Salman Hossain with 6 on the crease as the stumps were drawn for the day.
Shahadat Hossain and Mohammad Sharif shared two wickets each for Dhaka giving away 21 and 28 runs respectively. Barisal Division still trailed by 487 runs and they have four wickets in hand after the second day’s play.
