An old member of Tablig jamaat died after heart attack in a jamey mosque at Chandpur Sadar on Wednesday noon.
The deceased member was identified as Golam Mostafa , 60, a retired Police man and a resident of Daulatpur Nazirhat area under Fatikchhori Upazila of Chattogram district.
His fellow devotee Md Moslehuddin has said , Golam Mostafa and a few other devotees attended Tongi Ijtema on 13 January. Then Golam Mostafa and he along a few other members of Tablig jamaat joined forty days’ Chillah of Tablig tenet. As part of this chillah(forty days’ time in the path of Allah), Golam Mostafa and he and other devotees came to Abdullah jamey mosque at Torpurchondi village in Chandpur Sadar Upazila. Today Wednesday at 11 am Golam Mostafa was feeling acute pain in his chest and at one stage, he collapsed on the floor. . He was then rushed to Chandpur General Hospital where the on duty doctor after examining him properly declared him dead at noon.
He was then sent to his home in the afternoon-said senior Tablig member- Maulana Abdur Rashid , Chandpur Imam of Bus Stand Jamey masjid.
A pall of gloom has descended upon the other Tablig men following his sudden death.
