Tabith Awal, the BNP-backed mayor candidate in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) polls has urged the Election Commission (EC) not to publish the gazette of the polls results.
He made the call in a letter submitted to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad on Wednesday afternoon. His lawyer Barrister Ehsanur Rahman confirmed the news.
Terming the city polls as ‘biased, farcical and not acceptable’, Tabith in his letter demanded schedule of fresh election in the DNCC by canceling the April 28 polls. He also demanded probe for the irregularities in the election.
