BNP’s mayoral candidate for the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Tabith Awal alleged that he was being threatened to step aside from the upcoming elections, to be held on January 30.
He said it while addressing a view exchange meeting with activists and leaders of BNP at Bhasani Bhaban in the capital’s Nayapaltan arranged by Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal (JSD) on Tuesday afternoon.
He said, “BNP nominated mayor and concillor candidates and its leaders and activists are being oppressed in different ways before DNCC and DSCC polls.”
“They are being arrested and threatened to step aside from the elections. It proves that the ruling party wants to stage another election farce like the December 30 national polls,” he alleged.
