Taapsee Pannu has landed a plum role in Anubhav Sinha’s Mulk, which is being talked about as a social thriller. She will reportedly plays Rishi Kapoor’s daughter-in-law in the film. The film also allegedly has Prateik Babbar in an important role.
A source was quoted thus in the Mumbai Mirror. “The plot revolves around a joint family who is embroiled in a controversy with the actress out to reclaim their honour.” The film will roll in October-November and will be shot in Lucknow and Varanasi.
Anubhav Sinha too was quoted thus: “The film is a thriller set in my hometown Varanasi. I’ve been directing for a long time now but never done anything in my part of the country. Rajat Kapoor is also on board with Taapsee, Rishi and Prateik. Others are still being cast. The film is inspired by true events.” Knowing Anubhav, it’s going to be a hard-hitting film alright.
