England beat defending champions West Indies by six wickets in their first Super 12s match of the ongoing T20 World Cup Saturday in the UAE’s Dubai.
Asked to bat first, the Caribbeans were bundled out for 55 all out in 14.2 overs – their lowest in T20 World Cups.
Chris Gayle was the only West Indian batter to reach double-digit figures (13).
For England, Adil Rashid bagged four wickets for two runs in 2.2 overs – his best figure in T20 World Cups. Moin Ali and Tymal Mills bagged two wickets each.
In reply, England chased down the target of 56 in 8.2 overs, losing four wickets.
For the West Indies, Akeal Hosein took two wickets for 24 runs.
Meanwhile, in the first match of the Super 12s, Australia beat South Africa by five wickets.
In the next two matches of this stage Sunday, Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka and India will face Pakistan.
