T20 Women’s Asia Cup begins October 1

The T20 Women’s Asia Cup will begin at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on October 1.
A total of seven teams will take part in the single league basis shorter version cricket competition. They are : Hosts Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan. Top four teams will get the tickets of the semi-finals. The top team will face the fourth-place achiever team in the first semi-final, while the second-place achiever team will play against the third-place achiever team in the second semi-final.
Hosts and defending champions Bangladesh will take on Thailand in the inaugural match on October 1. Bangladesh will face Pakistan in their second match on October 3, the hosts will meet Malaysia on October 6, Bangladesh will play against India on October 8, the Red-and-Green outfit will take on Sri Lanka on October 10, Bangladesh will face the United Arab Emirates on October 11.
The two semi-finals will take place on October 13. The final will be held on October 15.
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh emerged the champions of the Asia Cup beating favourites India by three wickets in the last-ball thriller final at Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia in 2018.
Players of Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team are now staying at the United Arab Emirates to compete in the ICC World Cup qualifiers.
