Daffodil International Symposium on Hospitality, an online event will be held on 10th September 2020 and launch of the Daffodil Oxford Centre of Excellence in Hospitality (DOCEH)-a cutting-edge educational institute that will offer internationally recognized degree programmers in culinary arts and hospitality management will be officially declared through this symposium. Senior Adviser to Prime Minister Dr. Gowher Rizvi will inaugurate the symposium as well as declare the launch of DOCEH as chief guest.
The symposium will be opened by Dr Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil International University (DIU), who will outline why the university has taken the decision to prioritize hospitality and culinary arts education. An array of distinguished contributors from academia, industry and government will discuss issues relevant to the formation of DOCEH, including how to achieve excellence in the delivery of higher education; the impact of Covid-19 on the global hospitality industry; and the promotion of Bangladesh around the world, on the basis of its rich and distinctive culinary culture.
Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed will be present as the closing ceremony of the Symposium as the chief guest while British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Robert Chatterton-Dickson, will discuss the importance of this project as a representation of educational collaboration between Bangladesh and the UK as the special guest.
