A Sylhet court on Thursday sent a young man to jail in a case filed over the repeated rape of a teenager for 15 days after abducting her in Jalalabad area of Sylhet district town.
The accused is identified as Sadikur Rahman, 22, son of late Abdul Malik of Maiyachar village in Jalalabad.
Police in a press statement said Rahman kidnapped the 14-year old victim from Maiyachar on August 18 and held her at a female accomplice’s house, where he violated her several times.
Police started investigation after a general diary was filed with Jalalabad Police Station over the matter and they rescued the girl on Wednesday evening from Hazrat Shahjalal Mazar area.
Later, Rahman and his accomplice were arrested from Maiyachar after the victim’s father filed a case on Thursday.
The girl was sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for medical test.
