Sylhet tourist spots witness good turnout of visitors

A good turnout of visitors, mostly young from the region as well as from all over the country during the longest Eid vacations this year.
Yet there has been rush on all the spots. Although about 20 per cent visitors had cancelled their trip to Sylhet after the Gulshan restaurant attack, the tourist sites in this division witnessed
In addition to the greenery of tea gardens, the shrines of Hajrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hajrat Shahporan (RA) had huge visitors from all over the country amid light rains.
However, the security arrangement was tightened with deployment of additional forces on all the important places.
Alongside the tea gardens, spots like Ratargul Swamp forest, Jafflong, Sylhet Eco park, Lalakhal, Pantumai, Bichhnakandi and Madhabkunda have drawn huge crowds every day while amusement spots like Adventure World, Excelsior Sylhet, Dreamland Park, Sylhet Shishu Park, Osmani Shishu Park, etc also had a good number of visitors since the Eid day.
Through a nice weather with scattered rains on Friday, all these spots drew the huge number of visitors of all ages.
‘Seeing Bisnakandi, Madhabkunda and Jafflong and sites is enjoyable always’, said a number of visitors.
In addition to visiting these places, we have also visited the shrines in the city, said Saiful Haque, who, along with family members drove to Sylhet from Brahmanbaria Friday morning.
The rush may continue for 2 more days, said some staff at the Dreamland Park on Sylhet-Zakiganj road Saturday. However, normal temperature amid light rains for the last few days after days of scorching heat gave a better feeling to all.
Meanwhile, the hotel and rest houses are doing good business as visitors from other districts are there. Some of them reached Sylhet a day before the Eid day, said a hotel staff in the city.
Getting a longest 9-day shutdown for Eid this time, many people are enjoying holiday till today while almost all the hotels are booked, said the assistant commercial officer of the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation’s motel in Sylhet Utpal Roy.
The untoward incidents at Gulshan and Kishoreganj didn’t affect much in this case, he claimed.
