Sylhet city becoming busy again

People who had gone home to enjoy the Eid-ul- Azha with their dear and near ones are returning to their work in Sylhet city.
Maximum people are returning by inter district buses and trains. As a result, huge gatherings were seen at Sylhet Railway station and inter district bus counters in Sylhet city.
According to the sources, streets of the Sylhet city wears a deserted look as most of the city-dwellers left for their village home to observe the Eid-ul- Azha, one of the greatest religious festival of the Muslim community during the week long holiday. They are returning to Sylhet city.
About 80 per cent city-dwellers are outsiders from the village. Maximum of them went to their village home during the Eid-ul- Azha. Only the permanent residents of the city stayed to observe the festival here. On the holiday, the city-streets looked vacant with a few number of people visiting their relatives’ house in the city. However, law enforcing agencies including Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) took special measures to control the law and order situation during the Eid-ul- Azha particularly to control robbery during holidays.
After starting the return of city dwellers to the Sylhet city, the city is becoming busy again. Huge gatherings are seen on the roads. The streets and roads are taking busy shape again.
Delwar Ahmed, a government official said, “I went to Comilla to enjoy the Eid-ul- Azha with my family. I returned today and I will join my job tomorrow.”
Jeni Islam, a college teacher who went to her father in law’s village home at Khulna to enjoy Eid vacation came back and told that she is very happy to see the condition of four lane Dhaka-Sylhet Highway and her journey was very comfortable.
