Sylhet AL suspends 13 rebel UP racers

Awami League has suspended 13 local leaders for participating in the upcoming union parishad elections in Bishwanath, Golapganj and Dakhshin Surma upazilas of the district going against the party decision.
Jaglu Chowdhury, deputy office secretary of the district Awami League, in a press release on Monday night said the decision was taken against five candidates of Bishwanath, four of Golapganj and four of Dakhshin Surma upazila as they started contesting the upcoming union election as ‘rebel candidates’ failing to get nomination from the party.
Those who were suspended include Fakhrul Islam Motsin, former vice-president of the Deokolos union unit of AL in Bishwanath upazila; Soyful Haque, a former activist of the sadar union unit; Pir Liakat Ali, former president of the Khajanchi union unit; Azizur Rahman, an activist of the Rampasha union unit; Asab Uddin, a member of the Daulatpur union unit of the upazila; Abdus Salam Zilu, president of the Golapganj sadar union unit; Rumel Siraj, an activist of the Bhadeswar union unit; Ashrafuzzaman Ashu, a leader of the Lakhsanabando union unit; Kabir Ahmed Mushon, vice-president of the Lakshipasha union unit in Golapganj upazila, Md Chunu Miah, vice-president of the Moglabazar union unit, Nurul Islam Alam, a leader of the Daudpur union unit, and MK Karim Kawser and Mujibur Rahman, leaders of the Silam union unit of Dakhshin Surma upazila.
