Local leaders and activists of different levels of the party and its affiliates have come out in the field in anticipation of the nomination of Farzana Samad Chowdhury for the by-election of Sylhet-3 (Dakshin Surma-Fenchuganj-Balaganj) constituency. She was wife of Late Mahmud us Samad Chowdhury MP. Bearing the ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in his heart and adhering to the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Jananetri Sheikh Hasina. She has a good reputation as an educator in the area. After the demise of Mahmud us Samad Chowdhury, a Member of Parliament in the constituency, the seat was declared vacant by the Election Commission.
Apart from him, the names of at least one and a half dozen potential candidates are also being heard in this constituency. It has been learnt that one of the possible candidates for this constituency is Farzana Samad Chowdhury who is highly trusted to the late Mahmud us Samad Chowdhury.
Local leaders and activists of the party said, Farzana Samad Chowdhury has been working dedicatedly for the development of the area. She is known in every house in the constituency. Asked about the nomination.
Farzana Samad Chowdhury said, “I have been working for the development of the area standing beside our beloved leader late MP Mahmud us Samad Chowdhury. We are still doing it.”
“We want the cooperation and advice of all quarters including the leaders and workers of all levels of the party to build Dakshin Surma-Fenchuganj-Balaganj as a model of development by completing his unfinished work,” she added.
