An unbeaten knock of 105 by skipper Alok Kapali helped Sylhet Division collect 281/5 in the first innings on day 1 against Chittagong Division in the Tier-2 domestic first class 18th National Cricket League (NCL) at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Saturday.
Meanwhile, in another 3rd round match of Tier-2, Rangpur Division remained at stumps in the first innings, also on day-1, scoring 172/6 against Rajshahi Division at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) ground-3.
Sylhet vs Ctg
Sent in to bat first, Sylhet played 90-overs to collect the figure with four partnership contributions of 47(unbeaten), 77, 58 and 60 runs in the 6th, 5th, 4th and 3rd wickets respectively.
Kapali remained at stumps scoring 105 off 194 balls, including seven boundaries and one six, while Shahanur Rahman on 17 in the 6th.
Number-4 batsman Rajin Saleh played a 51 runs innings off 134 balls, involving five boundaries.
Zakir Hasan scored 32 whiled Sayem Alam and Ruman Ahmed added 27-run each for the side.
Iftekhar Sajjad bagged two wickets for 78 while Saeed Sarkar, Belal Hossen and Mohammad Saifuddin took one wicket each.
Saeed Sarkar made his first class debut in the match for Chittagong Division.
Rangpur vs Rajshahi
Sent in to bat first, Rangpur played 54.2 overs to remain 172/6 at stumps.
Suhrawadi Shuvo was batting on with 46 off 84 balls. Saddam Hossain Shawon paired Shuvo in the 7th pair, but counted no collection yet.
Tanveer Haider scored 53 off 108 balls while Ariful Haque added 39 runs.
Farhad Reza bagged three wickets for 45 while Muktar Ali and Mamun Hossain took one wicket each for the side.
