There is uncertainty about Tahsina Rushdir Luna, wife of BNP leader M Ilias Ali, contesting the upcoming polls in the Biwsanath and Osmani Nagar Upazila of Sylhet-2 Constituency,.
According to a source, Tahsina retired six months ago from her post of Deputy Registrar at Dhaka University.
Sylhet Regional Election Officer Md Israel Hossain said, “Under the existing law, a government official cannot participate in the election if it has not been three years since his/her retirement.
Amid this confusion, her elder son, Barrister Abrar Ilyas Ornob, has submitted his nomination papers as well.
