Tomorrow (Monday) is the 34th death anniversary of Advocate Syed Monzurul Ahsan, former President of Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party, says a press release.
Veteran politician and prominent lawyer Advocate Syed Monzurul Ahsan passed away on March 23, 1986. He was yuounger brother of Syed Kamrul Ahsan Ex-MLA and Syed Ziaul Ahsan, Ex- Speaker of the then East Pakistan Lagislative Assembly. He was also brother-in-Law of late Dr Sazzad Hossein, the then Vice Chancellor of the Rajshahi University.
Syed Monzurul Ahsan was associated with Nezam-e-Islam party from its very inception in the year 1953. He played important role to revive Bangladesh Nezame Islam Party under Political Party Regulation (PPR) after independence of Bangladesh. He was elected Secretary General and president of the party.
To commemorate the death anniversary of Adv Syed Monzurul Ahsan Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party will organise a memorial meeting followed by special prayers at its central office tomorrow (Monday) at 3 p.m. Maulana Abdul Latif Nejami, Chairman, Islami Oikya Jote (IOJ) and President of the party called upon the leaders and workers of the party to offer Fateha for the salvation of the departed soul.
