Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal will enforce a dawn-to-dusk hartal in the district on Saturday protesting the alleged police attack on its leaders and activists.
The shutdown was announced through a statement on Thursday night.
Police allegedly fired gunshots and charged baton on a procession brought out by the Swechchhasebak Dal men in the Sylhet city on Thursday evening that left some 20 people, including district Swechchhasebak Dal joint convener Ajmal Hossain Rayhan, injured.
Meanwhile, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal’s city and district units also extended their support to the hartal.
