Swadhinata Cup Football starts on November 27 at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur. The football competition is the curtain-raiser football meet of this season.
The players’ transfer programme will come to an end on November 25.
As the renovation works of Bangabandhu National Stadium is going on, so, the football competition will be held in Kamalapur. The Bangladesh Football Federation will arrange the football tournament in Kamalapur after discussing the representatives of participating teams. The 12 football teams, which will take part in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football, the most prestigious domestic football competition, will compete in the Swadhinata Cup Football. They are: Bashundhara Kings, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited, Dhaka Abahani Limited, Saif Sporting Club Limited, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Chittagong Abahani Limited, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, Rahmatganj MFS, Bangladesh Police Football Club, Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra, Uttar Baridhara Club and Swadhinata Krira Sangha. Besides, four services teams will take part in the football competition. They are Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan. If the public universities, which are affiliated to BFF show interest to participate in the football competition, then the BFF will decide to arrange a qualification meet among those teams including the services teams.
