The 2nd Founding Anniversary of Saidpur United Volunteers Association (SUVA) was held on Friday at Saidpur Upazila Parishad premises through various colourful events. Among the ceremonies there were the joyous procession, the happy inauguration of the anniversary by releasing of balloons and pigeon- the symbol of peace, cutting of cake, holding of discussion meeting, by distribution of crests & certificates and holding pleasant cultural programmes. The day started with a colorful rally and ended with a pleasant cultural programme.
Deputy Commissioner of Nilphamari and Chief Patron of SUVA, Md. Hafzur Rahman Chowdhury was the Chief Guest. Saidpur Upazila Chairman Md. Moksedul Momin, Saidpur Municipality Mayor Md. Amjad Hossain Sarkar, Saidpur Upazila Awami League President and former Mayor Akhtar Hossain Badal, Founder of SUVA and former UNO S. M Golam Kabria, former Residential Medical Officer (RMO) of Saidpur 100 -Bed Hospital Md. Arful Haque Sohel, Officer-in-Charge of Saidpur Thana Abul Hasnat Khan and former Commander of the Freedom Fighters Ekramul Haque delivered their valuable speech as the special guests of the programme. The other speaker was the correspondent of Prothom Alo, Journalist M R Alam Jhantu. Saidpur Upazila Executive Officer Md. Nasim Ahmed presided over the ceremony. Convener of the Anniversary Celebration Committee and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Ramiz Alam delivered his valuable speech. Nawshad Ansari explained all the activities and step taken by SUVA in this long two years in his welcome speech as the President of SUVA.
Three voluntary organizations were awarded crests in the evaluation of voluntary work among the organizations included in SUVA. The organizations are Garib Medical Services, Agrayatra Samaj Seva Sangha and Humanity of Saidpur. Certificates were also distributed among 23 voluntary organizations associated with SUVA for their relentless work and outstanding cooperation in the service of humanity in Saidpur Upazila in the ongoing Corona epidemic situation. The certificate was given by Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner Md. Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury. Saidpur United Volunteers Association (SUVA) was formed on November 13, 2018 with 23 voluntary organizations in Saidpur Upazila of Nilphamari. The organizations have been working for the prevention of child marriage in
Saidpur Upazila and providing all possible assistance to the patients coming to the local 100-bed hospital with many other social services from the very beginning.
