Students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet on Saturday blocked the Sylhet-Sunamganj Road demanding security on the campus and the exemplary punishment to the culprits who were involved with the incident on Friday.
Rakib Uddin, an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering and
Polymer Science (CEP) Department, was severely injured by a motorcycle rider on the campus.
The students of the university blocked the road in front of main gate of SUST from 11:00am to 12:30pm. SUST Vice-Chancellor Prof Aminul Haque Bhuyan rushed to the spot and assured the agitating students that they they would fulfill their demands.
On Friday night, the students confined Vice-Chancellor in his residence and observed sit-in programme in front of the residence for taking action in this regard.
Officer-in-charge of Jalalabad Police Station Gousol Hossain said, a case was filed and two culprits were arrested.
