UNB, Munshiganj :
A suspected thief was killed in a lynch-mob attack at Balashur village in Sreenagar upazila early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Md Laku Sarkar, 32, son of Joynal Sarkar of Uttar Balashur village of Rarikhal union.
Md Saidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sreenagar Police Station, said Laku entered the house of one Md Yunus of the village and tried to steal valuables early in the morning.
As Yunus’s son Rajib tried to obstruct him he stabbed Rajib with sharp weapon..
Hearing Rajib’s scream, villagers rushed in and caught Laku. They beat him up mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Munshiganj General Hospital. The injured was admitted to Dhaka Mitford Hospital.
