A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Ramu upazila in Cox’s Bazar district on Wednesday night.
Deceased Delwar Hossain, 28, was a resident of Uttar Jaliapara area of Teknaf in the district. RAB-7 Deputy Commander Major Mushfiqur Rahman said on information, they conducted a drive in the upazila around 11 pm. Sensing the presence of the team, the drug traders opened fire at RAB, forcing the team to retaliate in self-defence that triggered a gunfight.
