UNB, Gaibandha :
Police arrested a man from Charpatdiara village in Sadar upazila on Sunday, suspecting his involvement in the arson attack on a girls’ school at Kunderpara of the upazila.
The arrestee was identified as Ranju Miah, 45, of Char Patdiara village.
Mehedi Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police
Station, said police arrested Ranju from the village around 4:30 pm. Meanwhile, different organisations, including Gaibandha Human Rights Forum, formed a human chain at DB Road in the district town in the morning protesting the arson attack on ‘Gono Unnayan Academy High School’.
Speakers at the programme demanded arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in the incident. They also demanded immediate financial support from the government, construction of a new academic building, necessary steps for arranging a library, books and educational materials and providing certificates, burnt in the fire, again.
