Sushoma Sarkar has attached herself with theatre group, Desh Natok after enjoying Masum Reza scripted and directed play, Nityopuran of that group. She worked with this troupe for several groups. Under the banner of this group she acted in plays Jonomey Jonmantor, Birsa Kabbyo. In the meantime, last 10 years she was engaged with maintaining her family life and acting in small screen so she could not give time to theatre plays.
When Masum Reza gave her an offer to play in role of Draupadi in play Nityopuran Sushoma agreed to work. Earlier Shirin Khan Moni, Naznin Hasan Chumki and Bonnya Mirza played in this role. Today Sushoma will play in this role.
Under Masum Reza’s direction Nityopuran is coming on stage after 14 years. Eighteen years ago, it was first staged. Sushoma is returning to stage after 10 years through this play. She has taken six months preparation in this regard. Therefore, last two days she gave more effort to play in role of Draupadi. Nityopuran is scheduled to be staged today at 7:00pm at the main auditorium of National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
While talking to act in this play Sushoma told this correspondent, “After 10 years break, I am returning to stage. I can realize how I had passed time without performing on stage. I am really grateful to Masum Bhai because without his inspiration and interest I couldn’t get the scope. I shall try my level best to portray my role Draupadi.”
Sushoma also informed that after finishing shooting of Bulbul Zilani’s movie Roudrochhaya she has returned to Dhaka from Sylhet.
Therefore, she is also acting in Nurul Alam Atik’s movie Peyarar Subash.
