Rohingya issue also on agenda

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will arrive in Dhaka today (Sunday) on a two-day official visit to discuss bilateral issues.
She will arrive at the Bangabandhu Air Force base at 13:55, a senior official said on Saturday.
Apart from bilateral issues, Rohingya issue is likely to come up for discussion in both the
meetings with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, a diplomatic source said.
Foreign Minister Mahmood Ali will lead the Bangladesh side at the next Joint Consultative Commission on Sunday afternoon at the State Guest House while his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj will head her country’s delegation at the meeting.
The two foreign will review the entire bilateral relations between the countries and take forward the decisions taken so far.
After the meeting, Sushma Swaraj is expected to meet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 6:00pm.
Mentionable that Indian Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Arun Jaitley paid a three-day official visit from October 3 at the invitation of Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith.
The two ministers had reviewed the status of economic cooperation and development partnership initiatives taken during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bangladesh in June 2015 and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s to India in April 2017.
During the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India in April 2017, an Indian Line of Credit of $4.5 billion was announced for Bangladesh.
The dollar credit line agreement for implementation of this third Line of Credit (LoC) was signed in presence of the ministers of finance of India and Bangladesh on October 4.
This brought the total quantum of credit lines extended by India to Bangladesh over the last six years to $8 billion.
