Poisoning has been conclusively ruled out as the cause of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. A team of doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi confirmed the matter in a report to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) of India after carrying out an autopsy, reports NDTV. Poisoning was a theory raised by the actor’s family and others who have been questioning the Mumbai police assessment that the popular star committed suicide.
The 34-year-old movie star was found dead on June 14 in his Mumbai apartment. Although Mumbai police called the incident a suicide based on initial autopsy, many were not convinced. Wild speculation and campaigns of justice on social media and allegations from Sushant Singh Rajput’s family raised doubts that became a part of an overall CBI investigation.
The CBI investigation started after the actor’s family filed a case accusing the actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty of mentally harassing him, medicating him, exploiting him for money and playing a role in his death.
