Thirty five thousand students of Eden Mohila College can now pay their educational dues and fees through BCB SureCash mobile banking from their home or hostel. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and the college principal Prof Hosne Ara inaugurated the service at the college premises on Thursday. Education secretary Nazrul Islam Khan, Managing Director and CEO of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Abu Sadek Mohammad Sohel and CEO of SureCash Dr Shahadat Khan were also present at the ceremony.
Education Minister has highly lauded this mobile-phone based fee payment service. Using this service, the college will streamline its payment collection system, reduce manual work and increase efficiency, and students will be able to save time and rickshaw fare.
He hopes other institutes will also adopt mobile payment system following the Eden College trail. Professor Hosne Ara said; we have adopted a complete digital payment platform for our students. We will not require maintaining piles of big ledger books any more.
Account management and report generation are all automated through an easy-to-use web-portal.
Education Minister also inaugurated some development initiatives taken by Eden College authority, such as vaccination service for the students, library automation, finger-print technology for hostel students, and an independence themed mural sponsored by SureCash.
