Omar Faruq Talukder, assistant personal secretary (APS) of former rail minister Suranjit Sengupta, has been jailed for five years for concealing wealth statement from the Anti-Corruption Commission.
Judge of Dhaka Special Court-4 Md Ataur Rahman
issued the order on Sunday morning and sent him to jail.
The court also fined him Tk 1,23,47,000 crore. In default, he will have to spend two years and six months in jail. On November 26, 2012, ACC assistant director S M Rashedur Reza, who is also investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet against him in the case.
