Suranjit opines against joining any alliance in feuds of Shia-Sunni

Elderly politician and former Minister Suranjit Sengupta has opined against the joining in Saudi led 30-Nations alliance by Bangladesh . He said ‘we will not join any alliance against the feuds of Shia-Sunni . Suranjit Sengupta was addressing the discussion meeting at Bijoy Mela mancha in city on Sunday evening as chief guest . He said , an alliance was constituted led by Saudi Arabia to fight against the threats of IS .He said our foreign policy was clearly written in the constitution and Bangabandhu has given us this constitution beside the redgreen flag also . He mentioned that in Clause 22 of the constitution, it was clearly said ‘we will not go in any war alliance or hastles but always vow to peace process.
He further said Bangladesh willnot involve with the feudsof shia-sunni and our Prime Minister will realize the sentiments of the people . He also opined that we should not entangle with any feuds with our friendly countries and always to work with our friendly countries those extends supports to our liberation war as well as our Independence.
Chairman of Bijoy Mela Parishad and former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury presided over the discussion meeting on Victory day . Among others, former state minister Shamsul Hoque Tuku, Abdul Majid Khan MP, Jahirul Hoque Mridha MP, former vice chancellor of Jahangirnagar University Prof. Anowar Hossain, former VC of chittagong university Dr. Anowarul Azim Arif, city AL president Khorshed Alam Sujan and JSD leader Indunandan Dutta also spoke in the reminiscence of liberation war.
