Senior Awami League leader Suranjit Sengupta on Friday urged BNP to take part in the upcoming elections of the three city corporations-Dhaka North, Dhaka South and Chittagong.
“It had been BNP’s demand that the elections be held to city corporations. They participated in every city corporation polls under the present Election Commission in the past and won those. So, there’ s no reason of boycotting the elections this time. Come and take part in the election,” he said.
Suranjit, an AL Advisory Council member, was addressing a discussion in the capital. Nouka Samarthak Gosthi, a platform of AL supporters, arranged the discussion on the current political situation at the Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh.
